The morning of your wedding deserves as much attention as the rest of your day.
Member, Bridal Hair by Natasha shares some top tips. You may have already set the wheels in motion without even realising it yet, when you asked your favourite people to be your bridesmaids. So here’s all the things you need to know and all the top tips to ensure your have the best wedding morning.
First things first. The time of your ceremony and the size of your bridal party will determine when you’ll be setting your alarm for the morning. General ruling is, the bigger the bridal party the earlier the start, especially if you have an early ceremony. Allow 2 hours per person for hair and make up. If you would prefer a later start time you may want to think about a later ceremony or organise a secondary stylist to assist.
The biggest tip is all about garment prep! Steaming your veil or any dresses should be done the night before or if you have forgotten pop it in the bathroom while you have a shower. The moisture in the air from the steam will cause hair ups and curls to drop and make up to melt/slip off.
There is a reason matching dressing gowns are so popular. They are brilliant for getting changed without messing up your hair or smudging your make up. If your not doing dressing gowns, wrap tops or button ups are just as good. The main thing is you want to avoid pulling anything over your head.
It is very important your all up, washed and dressed in your getting ready outfits. Your hair is clean and dried, unless otherwise instructed, for when your glam squad arrive. Having a schedule set for you and your bridesmaids is a great idea when its used as a guideline. If you have booked professionals for hair and make up and they are ready for the next person, whoever is available should take the spot. This will save valuable time and ensure the morning will run as smooth as possible.
My favourite tip is to have breakfast sent to the room or organise a grazing board for you and your bridal party to enjoy together. Play music that is special to you and your bridesmaids, songs from your hen or childhood to keep the mood going and keep the nerves at bay.
Remember to offer your glam squad some refreshments, especially caffeine. Trust me they will need it. You may not realise but it’s likely they would have been up around 4am to provide their service for you.
Lastly. Remember it’s your day.
