Bridal Hair by Natasha shares her top tips for your wedding photos.
It’s no secret that a wedding can be pricey. It can also be hard to find a photographer to cover your day for less than £1000 in todays market .So here are a few tips to ensure you get the best out of your ceremony pictures.
1. Walk slowly down the isle.
This seems obvious right? But it’s one of the most forgotten wedding rules. Try and get to the end of the song you’ve chosen to walk down the isle. This will help keep things nice and slow. Normally nerves get the better of us and we start to rush to the end.
Ask your bridesmaids to space out their entrances. Leave a longer gap before you make your move, keep them waiting just a few moments longer. I promise the suspense of your entrance will be all the more spectacular for it. Remember to smile and look forward, look at your loved ones if you can and not at the ground. This especially goes for the bridesmaids. I would also recommend pre-planning the order of who is walking down the isle.
2. Carry your bouquet low and facing out.
Your bouquet should be held at your waist, thumbs in line with your belly button, not at your chest. This will ensure your not hiding your dress and prevents any awkward arm shots.
3. Pre-plan who is holding your bouquet during the ceremony.
Even make a bit more if a gesture with it. Give them a hug or hold their hands for a second as you do. give your photographer a moment to capture it. It will be these relaxed candid shots that you will treasure the most even if the moment has been designed by lingering slightly.
4. Hold the kiss.
In fact hold every kiss you make on your wedding day. Give the photographer a moment to capture it. They will be gutted if they miss the money shot as will your guests. Everyone loves with the happy couple kiss. Don’t be afraid to ask your celebrant/official to move out of the way when the time comes, although most of the best ones do this out of good practice.
5. Stop half way for another kiss.
This makes another brilliant photo opportunity. All your friends and family will be standing around you. Maybe throw in a choreographed dip. And don’t forget to hold that kiss!
6. Have fun with your loved ones.
When its time for your group pictures enjoy yourself. Say inside jokes, laugh and be you. Enjoy yourself and this will be apparent in your pictures.
7. Make time for you both.
To be honest this has nothing to do with your pictures and everything to do with making time for you as newly weds. Your wedding is really about the 2 of you coming together. Do your best to find the other person during the evening. Dance together for more than just the first dance. Go get a drink together. Hold hand when you chat to your guests. These moments will be ones you look back on in years to come.
