I caught up with Lauren to talk about her exciting business venture in content creation for Weddings. I have worked with Lauren before on a styled shoot and again when Lauren done some work for me to help promote my Facial business. I was so excited when Lauren agreed to do a post for us. I love the whole concept of what Lauren offers for Brides, as she says ‘it’s the service you never knew you needed”
What is Social Brides Club?
Social Brides Club provides on the day wedding content creation and was the first provider of this new service in Scotland. I like to call it ‘the service you never knew you needed’. Wedding content creation is a new trend for modern couples who don’t want to miss a single ‘grammable moment! Everything is shot on iPhone Pro and delivered within 24 hours. From our full day package, couples can expect to receive around 1000 photos and videos. Think of us as your personal phone camera and hype girl for the day. You’ll be able to see your wedding through the eyes of your guests while allowing them to be phone-free and present in the moment. Photos, videos, boomerangs – we capture all the details and candid behind the scenes moments. Within 24 hours brides have a huge gallery of unedited videos and photos so that when waking up as newlyweds they can instantly relive the day. Each package includes trending tiktoks/reels which I will ensure don’t get started and forgotten about!
When did Social Brides Club start?
I launched Social Brides Club in October 2022 as I could’t find anyone in Scotland (or the UK) offering this wedding service that was hugely trending in the USA. After getting married myself the month before in September my only wedding regret was not having more phone footage! Although we had a professional videographer, I wanted to create lots of reels and tiktoks but couldn’t. It took around 2-3 months to receive our professional wedding photos and video and I wished I had something more instant to relive the day. Fast forward to now and we have over 40 weddings booked in the 2023 diary and are now a team of 3; Lauren (founder) and Ellie and Emma (content creators).
How did Social Brides Club start?
I have worked in the wedding industry for a number of years and was a bride to be myself all throughout the pandemic with a 2 year postponement. In 2020 I launched wedding blog From Brides With Love and I also worked organising wedding fayres. I graduated with an MA (Hons) in Business Management and Marketing, with a specialisation in social media (my dissertation was actually about the impact of social media on the wedding industry!).
Do you only do content creation for Weddings?
As well as the wedding day itself, we can capture additional wedding events such as rehearsal dinners and hen do celebrations. We have also worked closely alongside wedding suppliers to shadow them at weddings and create content for their socials. However, with it being peak wedding season at the moment our diary is pretty full!
Where is the furthest you have travelled or will be travelling for a wedding?
I am so lucky to get booked for incredible destination weddings! This year we’ll be travelling to Sintra, Malaga and Venice. Being based in Edinburgh it’s just a short flight to most European cities for destination brides looking for a wedding content creator.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m 24 and got married in September 2022, after postponing by 2 years due to the pandemic. My husband and I have been together since we were 16 and live in Edinburgh, although we are both from Glasgow originally. I am obsessed with all things wedding and feel so grateful to be part of this wonderful industry.
Where do you see Social Brides Club in 5 years?
I never expected for SBC to take off the way that it has and I’m so grateful! Thinking of 5 years in the future when I only launched 8 months ago feels a bit crazy, but certainly I’d like to see the team expanding across the UK so we can cover more weddings. My ultimate goal would be to be the go-to business in the wedding industry for on the day content creation!
