I spoke to Skye from SWeld Forever Jewellery to find out more about her family’s new business venture that’s taken off, offering permanent jewellery from their workshop in Annan, South West Scotland. I was so excited to be asked along to their beautiful workshop and see the stunning range of jewellery for myself.
How did SWeld Forever Jewellery come about?
Initially, it was my mum who came up with the concept to begin our Permanent Jewellery business, SWeld Forever Jewellery. She purchased the required Micro-Welding machine and a range of beautiful 9ct Solid Gold and Sterling Silver chains last year but, unfortunately, due to a blip in her health, I’ve now taken over introducing our Permanent Jewellery Bar while she supports behind the scenes.
When we first discovered the trend of permanent, welded bracelets, we were keen to have one fitted as mum and daughters. However, there was nowhere close to our area offering this service, so we thought there was an opportunity for us to create our own business.
What do your Wedding Services include?
Our Wedding Service offers a special way for brides and their bridal party to honour and remember their Wedding Day. With bridesmaids’ gifts now being more significant than ever, what better memento to give your bridesmaids than a bespoke, Forever Bracelet or Anklet – all tailored to the bride’s taste in quality Gold or Silver.
SWelding will be carried out at brides’ chosen venue – we can attend bridal showers, the ‘night before’ or the ‘morning of’ the Big Day – providing a keepsake of their unforgettable day (once the wedding hair and make-up have been washed away). The entire SWeld process – from choosing your chain (and an optional, personalised charm) being measured and then ‘zapped’ – takes approximately 15 minutes per bracelet, anklet, ring or necklace. We will happily liaise with Bride and Groom to facilitate preferences and budget. Discounts on listed prices may be available for larger group bookings. We are a mother-and-daughter duo who have always loved browsing, buying and wearing pretty jewellery. The reason we adore the concept behind permanent jewellery is due to its symbolisation of ever-lasting bonds between friends, family and soulmates. Our passion allows us to meet new people who reflect our own, endless connection – mirroring the seamless bond of our jewellery.

Our new venture very quickly caught the eye of the UK’s No 1 Bridal Magazine who invited SWeld to join them as an Exhibitor at their recent Scottish Bridal Festival and endorsed the business by including a small article in their current magazine. SWeld is now a member of their Guestlist and Digital Community which is very exciting for us.
