Member Bridal Hair by Natasha organised a styled photoshoot at Estate of Ord.
Set against 28 acres of stunning Scottish Highlands, the Estate of Ord was the perfect setting for our recent styled shoot. Situated along the iconic North Coast 500 route, just 25 minutes north of Inverness, this historic 17th-century estate blends natural beauty with timeless architectural charm. Its expansive walled garden and surrounding fields made for a breathtaking backdrop. The shoot aimed to fuse classic wedding romance with a modern edge.
Our model, Mallory, challenged conventional bridal aesthetics, showing that not every bride envisions the traditional soft and angelic look. The estate’s natural light presented an exciting opportunity for photographer Alison White, who had the freedom to experiment. She used a mix of flash and natural light, creatively working with the bright, direct sunlight—often tricky on wedding days—to capture bold, high-contrast images that highlighted both the estate’s beauty and Mallory’s fierce style.
Floral design added another layer of creativity. A blend of fresh and dried flowers brought texture and contrast, balancing delicate romance with modern flair. Mallory’s accessories, from Alexandra Bespoke, added a touch of bridal glamour. Kay designed two stunning bouquets, featuring locally sourced flowers. The fresh bouquet included dahlias and hydrangeas from her own garden, while the rich purples of the seasonal blooms created a dramatic, romantic palette. The dried flowers, a mix of purchased and homegrown, featured pink roses Kay had dried herself.
Three distinct looks were curated to showcase the estate’s versatility, with two dresses provided by Margret from Charlotte Smith Bridal. Natasha styled a classic satin ballgown with a modern half-up look and a bohemian bun, while a beaded fit-and-flare gown was paired with a contrasting mermaid side braid. Natasha and Kay also collaborated to add dried flowers to the half-up hairstyle, giving it an unexpected touch of whimsy and sophistication, offering brides a fresh take on wedding-day florals.
